PWC is seeking qualified applicants for the job of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Under a Deputy County Executive’s direction, the CIO is the County’s top information technology (IT) professional. As such, the CIO is responsible for establishing a vision for the integrated role of information technology, articulating a technology strategy, fostering and managing a countywide IT plan, and integrating, where practical, all centralized and distributed IT activities. IT has 79 employees and is divided into three major divisions: Information System Development-designing, implementing and managing integrated information systems; Infrastructure Management-designing, implementing and maintaining the County's voice and data networks; and Geographic Information Systems-designing, implementing, and maintaining geographic applications and current land information systems.

Requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field combined with at least five years of progressively responsible, executive level, information technology experience. Management and supervisory experience is required as is experience in developing, implementing, and managing a solution driven information technology program in a large and complex organization similar to Prince William County.

Must be able to inspire both technical and professional employees to meet their job goals in support of the agency, County and community strategic goals. Must enjoy working with people to achieve the agency's mission and must have a proven track record of building teamwork and communication both within and outside the agency. Disaster recovery planning expertise is highly desirable.
