Job Description:

Volusia, County, Florida (population 509,341) is seated in DeLand. The County is home to a number of public and private colleges and universities (including Stetson, Embry Riddle and Bethune Cookman), beautiful Atlantic beaches, an excellent public school system, and outstanding state and local parks. The County is bordered by the St. Johns River on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. It is easily accessible to Daytona Beach and the Orlando metropolitan areas. Cost of living, compared to other areas in Florida, is very reasonable.

Volusia County has a highly stable Council/Manager form of government with approximately 3,100 full-time and 800 part-time/seasonal employees. The Management and Budget Director is a vital part of the County’s executive team and oversees Management and Budget, Grants Management, Internal Audit and provides staff support to the Value Adjustment Board. The Department has 11 FTE’s and a current budget of more than $682,000.

Requires the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field and five (5) years of professional financial/management analysis experience with significant management level experience preferably gained in a governmental organization. Must be an excellent manager with a comprehensive and current understanding of the functions listed above and how they are applied in a fast-growing community.

Compensation: Highly competitive salary negotiable DOQs plus an outstanding benefits package.
