Job Description:

Loveland with a population of 72,000 within 35 square miles has received many awards and recognitions for its quality of life and City government performance. The community’s education and income levels are above national averages, and Loveland has enjoyed a steady population growth of approximately 2 percent annually over many years. The City of Loveland functions under the council-manager form of government with the City Manager reporting to the City Council. The Public Works Director reports to the Assistant City Manager and is responsible for an annual operating budget of $39.2 million and 136 FTE’s. The Public Works Department is organized into the following six divisions: 1) Administration; 2) Engineering and Transportation; 3) Facilities; 4) Fleet; 5) Streets, Solid Waste, Stormwater, and Mosquito Control (by contract); and 6) Transit.

The City is seeking a strong manager with outstanding leadership skills who is an innovator and relationship-builder. The minimum job requirements are: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Engineering, or related field from accredited college or university with Master’s degree preferred; and 2) seven years’ supervisory/management experience relevant to essential job functions; equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

The salary range for this position is $99,800-$159,600
annually with an expected hiring range of $99,800-$129,700 depending on qualifications and experience. The City offers an excellent benefits package including contribution to a Money Purchase Plan for retirement and a free health clinic for employees and their families.
