The City of Wyoming is an economically stable community of 8,400 residents located in southwest Ohio. The City is a 3 square-mile northern suburb of Cincinnati with a median family income of more than twice the national average and an educational level of nearly three times the national average.
Wyoming is a home-rule municipal corporation that has operated under the council-manager plan since 1949. The most recent City Manager left the City after 12 years as City Manager for another position. The City offers a full range of municipal services including police, volunteer fire/EMS, parks, recreation, community development, public works, and water. The City has an $18.1 million budget, 111 FTE’s, and a AAA general obligation bond rating.
Seven Council Members are elected at-large in November of odd numbered years for two-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are chosen by the Council from among its members. The City Manager who is appointed by the City Council appoints all Department Directors.
The minimum job requirements are: 1) bachelor's degree in public or business administration with a master’s degree preferred; and 2) at least 5 years of progressively responsible public management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
